Call to discuss your concerns & goals and we can determine if I am a good fit.  Sometimes a trip to visit the office can help with this decision.  If not, I am always happy to connect you with others in our community.

Is what my child shares with you confidential?

I always offer parents tidbits of the psychoeducation part of session and more if the child wants to.  Often children will want to share their expressive arts pieces or have their families participate in a game we played during session.  I will always share if I have concerns about your child's safety or the safety of others.

How long will my child need to be in counseling?

We talk weekly about the successes and challenges faced during the previous week.  Goals are reviewed often and when you see the shift to consistently more positive behaviors, we can discuss lengthening the time between sessions.

What can I expect during the intake counseling session?

The intake process can take between 60-90 minutes and it is a time to discuss your child's history, their strengths,  present struggles, and the goals you want to work towards in helping your child be their best version of themselves.

Can you help me file my insurance?

I use Headway to manage insurance. If we determine we would like to work together, I will initiate an account for you with Headway to make it as easy as possible. Private pay is also available if you prefer not to use insurance.

Can I cancel my appointment? Do you have a cancellation policy?

A 24 hour cancellation is preferred as this gives me time to offer the slot to another family, however, I understand with children & life that unexpected things can occur.

I believe that a phone conversation ahead of time to determine if we are the best fit for your child is best practice.  Sometimes, a visit to the office is needed to make this decision.
